Respond Support was established in 1993 and is a leading provider of Early Years Education and Childcare services, Family Support, Day Care centres for older people, community education programmes and a range of community interventions.
As part of the re-settlement programme for soon to arrive refugees into Kilkenny City and County, Respond Support are recruiting for the following new and exciting positions:
Resettlement Support Worker
Location: Kilkenny City and County
Terms: – Fixed term (27 months) 40 hours per week
Objective: The main objectives of the role is to support refugees in the first weeks post arrival in the community. To develop programmes and activities to promote participation and inclusion in society and to develop mechanisms that promote self- sufficiency and independent living.
Qualifications/Experience
- 3rd Level qualification in Community Development, Development education or a Social Science discipline
- A minimum of 3 years work experience in a developmental role or
- 1 years’ experience working in an intercultural environment or
- At least 5 years work experience in a developmental role in a community development context.
- A current full driving licence and access to own transport is essential

Translator, Interpreter and Cross Cultural Worker
Location: Kilkenny City and County
Terms: 12 months Fixed Term Contract 40 hours per week
Objective: The main objective of the role is to provide interpretation, translation and cross cultural support for recently arrived refugees who will be resettled in County Kilkenny. It will involve assisting the Resettlement Support Worker, volunteers and relevant services to interact effectively with the new arrivals via interpretation and translation of documents.
Qualifications/Experience
- Hold a professional qualification in interpretation studies
- Native Arabic speak or a holder of a Third Level Qualification in Arabic
- A current full driving licence and access to own transport
