Ard an Ghleanna was set up with a view to supporting parents/carers with their childcare needs. Respond Support seeks to promote a family support policy, which has, as a primary focus, support for parents in their critical role. Our service aims to provide a quality service by qualified staffs, an integrated safe, stimulating environment, which helps develop children in every aspect of their development i.e. physically, intellectually, linguistically, educationally, spiritually and socially. We are committed to the best interest of every child as an individual and encourage each child to develop to their full potential. Photos of children enjoying the new outdoor play equipment at Ard an Ghleanna can be viewed here. Our parent and toddler program (Peek a Boo) runs every Wednesday 11.00am – 12.30pm and caters for children 0 – 3yrs.

The service provides the following:  ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education – Free pre-school year), CCS (Community Childcare Subvention), CCSP (Community Childcare Subvention – Plus), CEC P/S ( Community Employment Childcare Pre-school), CEC A/S (Community Employment Childcare After-school) and TEC/CETS(Training and Employment Childcare) schemes all funded by the OMCYA. The pre-school caters for children 2yrs 10mths – 5 yrs. It opens Monday to Friday 8.50 – 12.30pm. In pre-school the staffs work on a play based curriculum, which links to Siolta and Aistear. The after-school caters for primary school children aged 5-12yrs. It opens Monday to Thursday 2.00- 5.45pm. Fridays 2.00-5.00pm. We provide the children with assistance in their homework when they arrive and fun activities afterwards. All services provide the children with a nutritional snack. The children are provided with a quality service by qualified staffs in which they can thrive and develop.
